Understanding the needs and wants of the user is the priority of all design decisions. The way to create a meaningful design is not only through beautiful, and intricate schemes but also by providing solutions through designs that will elevate the human experience. Through this, we can start to understand how those design decisions impact no only the users but also the surrounding environment.

We must become aware that design is impactful in our lives, and that it shapes how we view and interact with the world. A simple change in the light fixtures, wayfinding, or material choice can have the largest impact on people. As I continue to grow and learn, I have witnessed how design has an effect on the built environment, and in doing so, it unconsciously impacts people’s behavior in the space. Meaningful designs should not only touch on the outer shell but also a subconscious level.
