WASHINGTON D.C.

FALL 2016

ASID

Headquarters

ASID is an interior design society that allows members to learn, grow and excel within the field. They relocated to a new building and desired to achieve LEED and WELL platinum. By carefully selecting sustainable materials and furniture, it was able to achieve LEED and WELL platinum. Another important factor that ASID required was to have a material library that is accessible to the public.

To promote wellness, a community garden was created on the rooftop. The rooftop is accessible to all residents of the building, allowing a communal space for everyone in the building. Not only does it contain a community garden, but it also has integrated booth seating, allowing people to have breaks and get away from their work environment. There is also a stage that allows the companies, that reside within the building, to throw events and have live performances.
